It is with great sadness that we share the passing of our colleague and friend, Craig Church. Craig passed away in August, and our hearts are truly broken. He will be deeply missed by his beloved family, all of us at Magnusson Balfour, KW Commercial Group, Keller Williams Realty, and the entire Greater Portland community.
Craig joined Magnusson Balfour in 2009 and quickly became an integral part of our team and ultimately, a partner. As a Broker, he specialized in commercial sales and leasing, business brokerage, and buyer representation. His top priority was always his clients—building long-term relationships and sharing his knowledge with generosity and integrity. Beyond serving his clients, Craig played a vital role in mentoring and supporting his fellow agents, always ready to lend his expertise and guidance. Before his career in commercial real estate, Craig spent 35 years in the office equipment industry, including 20 years owning and operating Church Office Equipment. Born and raised in Portland, and later living in South Portland, Craig built countless business relationships and friendships over the years, all marked by his warmth, professionalism, and dedication.
Craig was more than a colleague; he was a trusted advisor, a mentor, and most Importantly, a friend. His presence, kindness, and laughter will be profoundly missed. Craig was also known for his sarcasm with a smile and typically, visibly, giddy when he could “stir the pot” by way of some good-natured ‘ribbing’. And much to Craig’s credit he very much enjoyed being on the receiving end of similar good-natured ribbing as well. In fact, he may have even enjoyed that more! We are quite positive that “sarcasm” was Craig Church’s “love language”.
